The flying hood allows the protection of the magnetic flywheel and a good circulation (by the holes which it presents on the side) of the air in the engine; indeed the magnetic flywheel through the fins allows when the Solex is running the air intake and, the hood allows the channeling of air through the holes it has on its side.
